Jay! Our first prototype is ordered. It will be a set of wheels for the Husqvarna Nuda 900 test bike. The majority of the parts are already at Tulmo, and within the next few weeks, we expect the delivery of the machined parts.
The next stage is to carefully check the incoming parts to make sure they are made to specifications. This is followed by the assembly test. When everything fits together properly, and no issues are encountered, we can mount the wheels under the test bike.
In the end of May we have planned the Cannonball 1000 bikerun. This is a motorcycle trip of 1750 km, in 5 days, through 5 countries around Spa Belgium and Maastricht Netherlands. We are going to use this ride to test the rims extensively, but also to meet new people, make connections and make nice footage for promotional purposes. This will be the next stage of testing the rims.
We probably won't have the rims ready in time to apply the Cerakote finish for the Cannonball. Therefore, we will ride the Cannonball with uncoated rims, which will make possible abnormalities, distortion more visible and faster.
After the Cannonball, we will disassemble the rims and carefully inspect them for defects. If the rims are still in pristine condition, we will have the Cerakote finish applied to them. And now we have another reason to show you the rims....
In week 28, another big motorcycle trip is planned. This time 6 days, with about 1800 kilometers. Again, the rims will be subjected to extensive testing. These tests are crucial to ensure the quality and reliability of the rims. We are going to expose them to all kinds of conditions: from long highway rides to intensive use on twisty roads and even off-road! We want to make sure that the
Tulmo rims meet the highest standards.
So long story short; exciting times are coming! Prototype building and testing, lots of motorcycle riding and footage sharing! Stay tuned...
